Favorite Encore 308 Load

What is your favorite 308 Encore reload? Or factory load? I loaded up a load a couple of years ago that was under the max loading by a bit but still it was stouter than factory as it gave me a flinch and I can shoot factory fine. That flinch cost me a nice buck. I resorted to cast loads to get rid of the flinch but would like to go back to jacketed but a milder load that is easier to handle in the pistol. I could go with factory but since I reload for the caliber now I would rather reload for it. Any suggestions?

For deer, I have found the 150 gr Ballistic tip to be a good performer with the .308. My powder of choice is Varget . I used the load suggested in the Hodgdon Manual---46 to 47 grains maximum--and this will vary depending on the brass used. Primer used is Federal 210. Barrel is TC factory 15 inch---velocity 2550 fps using 46 grains in PMC brass. Recoil seems mild for the power---but that is totally subjective. Accuracy from a bag is MOA. The 165 ballistic Tip is just as good and possibly a better match for larger deer but will give stouter recoil.
Since the .308 is so inherently accurate, a guy could go nuts trying all the good loads. pg

Yep that is why I chose it for its inherent accuracy and selection of bullets and very available brass.

Most accurate load I have found for me was 43.5gr H4895 using PMC brass, federal G210M primers, and hornady 150gr interlock bullets.
