I generally match the bullet to the game that I'm going to hunt then work a load up from there. As long as the end result is a clean kill it doesn't really matter which way you go.

Another little "trick" is to get some penny wrappers, fold and glue one end then pre-measure your powder charge and put it into the wrapper the fold and staple the end. Put these in a plastic Zip Lock bag to keep em' dry and bingo, you've got pre-loads for next to nothing. No expensive tubes to by and no really expensive pellets to buy either.
