You guys know I asked a lot of questions about the used 7400 I bought from a pawn shop in Las Vegas. Well it finally cooled down enough to shoot it. It was immaculate when I got it, so I put a cheap scope on it and bought some different brands of 150 grn ammo. After getting it zeroded, I shot a 3 shot group @ 100 yds with Remington 150 corlocks, the hole mad a nicice tight clover leaf ! So I tried the WW power point and got about an inch, then the Federal vital shock, which did a shade better than the winchester. So, then I set up gallon milk jugs of water at 150,200 &250 yds. I killed them all with one shot each. Did the same with each brand of ammo. Loaded, slinged and scoped it weighs 8 lb 4 oz. about a pound lighter than my BAr, I'm not ever going to sell my BAr as it has ben 100 % rekliable for the past 10 years but from this limited testing, I think it will be a good loaner rifle for my farmer friend who lets me hunt. I might mentin the grip and length of pull is smaller than my Bar and honestly feels better than my BAr, also I can shoot it better off hand than my Bar. I* had no problems with firing, feeding or ejection. I let a couple of other guys at the range shoot it it with the same results and they said they had never seen a Remington semi perform like that.
I wish to than every one who replied to my posts , your imput was greatly appreciated.
As a side note, I saw my Doctor Wednesday and he seems to think I have beaten the prostrate cancer but will continue doing check ups for a while.
Pray for those poor folks along the Gulf and help if you can.
Again, thanks for all the imput and take Care, Carl
