summer 'rats
« on: September 01, 2005, 04:25:10 AM »
Im getting ready to bid a ADC job taking the rats out of a sewage lagoon.  There are 2 lagoons about 15 ft apart.  Like most lagoons there is no structure/logs/ or anything else.  There are some bank dens i can set 110's and i figured i would put out some floats with apples and may even set som 110's baited with carrots.  There are a couple of crossovers from the ponds i can set with 1.5's.

I have never trapped rats in the summer....is there a difference??
Thanks for any input

I used a lot of colony traps on summer rats.
Watch out using baited 110s,you will find waterfowl all over the place.
Set up the den holes, summer rats are about the only time,I use a rat lure. And watch out for snapping turtles,I got one in a 110,thought I was pulling up a rat.I had the business end of that snapper to close to my hand for comfort.
