installing tang sights??
« on: August 24, 2005, 03:06:59 PM »
hey pards,
i got a buff classic barrel being fitted to my uv stocked receiver as i type this.
im planning to use a scope on it but, if i want to would a tang sight work mounted on that style stock?? it is not the straight stock but the "pistol grip" style
i had a bc before and had a tang sight mounted on it and it worked great
sold the gun like an idiot
but i wonder with the different drop if there is any in the stock coming off the receiver would make the sight sit to low?? and would the monte carlo style (comb?) stock have any effect??
thanks,
sureshot

The Monte Carlo would require a taller sight than before, just to get your eyes lined up.  I do not think it will work.  A pistol grip shotgun stock should be just about the same as a BC stock.  With your eye that much higher the front sight would have to go up as well, the same amount, to compensate.

Better off with a straight comb stock or a scope sight.
God, Family, and guns, in that order!
