Fun weekend
« on: August 22, 2005, 05:58:29 PM »
:D Evening all, I took the family up to Crow creek mine for a short camping trip, a little panning and berry picking.  Blueberries, about half of them ripe.  The creek showed no color but 4-5 serious panners were sure trying hard.  I may be in trouble my wife got bit by the bug she really enjoyed panning.

Dave The color my friend was talking about was not north of you but on the Kenai, just past the placer river up one of the creeks before you get to Ingram creek, wouldn't be more specific than that.

Hay, any feedback on ATVs up here in Alaska.  I'm shopping for a new one, Yamaha has my bid right now.  Any other preferences out there?  :?  Best wishes old Moss
Best regards, be safe, and keep your powder dry!
Thanks Old Moss

I bought a Honda 350 Rancher with a 2,500 lb winch this summer.  So far all I have is praise.  Plenty of power (been towing carts full of firewood all weekend), great on gas, amazing where it will go.

It has my bit so far.  I bought the manual.....a lot less parts to go wrong.

Moss,
Next time you are in the G'wood valley, drive down the highway a piece to Petersen Creek.  Folks are pulling color out of there.  Careful, there is an improvised shooting range at the old gravel pit right there.

Beware, I bought the new Kawasaki, Brute Force, 750.  First trip out I only got 7 miles to the gallon.   Lots of power, comfortable ride, 2500 lb winch, big tires, lots of ground clearance, handles mud great, low center of gravity (especially for it's height), but gets lousy milage, and only holds 4 gallons of gas.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
