Air rifles from ole Mexico...

Any body have experience with Mendoza.....apparently in manufacture since 1910. Here's on with both .177 and .22 barrels, aperture sight supplied, and claiming a 2.5lb trigger pull. Reviews of Mendoza's seem favorable...........

Seems that opinions are mixed on this subject. Newer guns, sold in the past few years by Crosman, aren't so good. Triggers have about a 8 pound pull, power isn't so good, wood finish poor. I have a Crosman RM 622 that has a real nice stock, terrible trigger, low power.
I also have a 1980s .177 gun thats not a Crosman import. It is an FWB-124 clone, looks just like it. It has a nice light trigger, nice wood, good power.

Mendozas are generally pretty accurate, they have that going for them. I understand the new guns imported by AGE have a decent trigger and better wood, but as for the rest no one seems to be saying, So far no ones posted any real world reviews as of yet. I'd say don't run out to buy one until some better info in available or you may end up with a $300 POS.

I had an RM277 Mendoza when it was brought it by Crosman. I was pleased with the fit, finish and wood for the price. The trigger was horribly heavy, but at least predictable. The firing cycle was recoiless, and free of any twang. Decent starter gun.

Now, I've spoken with the new importer. He's told me that the triggers have been notablly refined, and are not quite nice. Based on my example of 'one', and his input, I wouldn't be shy about trying one.

I got one from Big Five awhile ago and then another from a local dealor because the stock on the second one was nicer looking. They both have hard trigger pulls but for the money and the peep Mendoza sights I am quite pleased. The triggers take some getting used to. The next "springer" that I got was a Theoben Eliminator in .20 cal. A huge price jump but if I had started out with this gas ram I would not have wanted anything else. I put a Weaver V16 on it. I only use this rifle now for any air gun shooting. The Mendozas are gathering dust in their boxes.  However, the price for what you get with Mendoza seems a lot better than just about anything else out there.
