Finally got around to posting this Report. 405 Grain Cast bullet.                                                                                                  
W.L.R Primers
Starline Brass.
Powder, AA 5744 27 grains.
Smith Ladder Sight installed.
Range 200 Yards.
1st. three shot group measured an even 2 inches.
2nd three shot group measured 1.457".
I am sure I can't repeat it. Sure is nice to see it once though.

great shootin bet ya can do it again it may take 5-10-15 trys but that is 1/2 the fun. Wish I had a place for some long shots to practice at but so far I only have 100 yrds

good shooting. does your smith sight have a peep hole slider or a u notch slider, are they a good sight i am thinking of getting one for my bc.

5744 powder

An acquaintance who does a lot of big bore shooting recently gave me some of the 5744 powder to load a few.He extolled the virtues of this powder.I have loaded some 405 gr. with it but haven't had a chance to try it.Your report is encouraging.Thanks.

Sorry about taking so long to answer.
The Smith sight is a peep hole. Also a Buckhorn sight that is good at 100
yards. A very good sight IMHO.

hey escalante.if your going to do long range shooting try this bullet its a lee 500r it cost $13.75 from track of the wolfe.with a 20to1mix its 508 grns has a ballistic coefficient of.443 it cast .459 diameter its a semi spitzer.

I am planning in trying that very bullet next. Just trying to get hings squared away with me and the rifle for now. I think if I can drive it hard enough it will shoot.  Recoil is another problem. We shall see.
Montanan: Thanks for posting the picture. I am impressed. Haven't got to the crossed sticks yet. Am still shooting off the bench.

escalante when you get the lee mould try some black powder loads the 500r sure dos like the black stuff.
