it's a Breda made M1 reciever, only costs $80 Cdn. i plan to build it up as a .308, cheper to feed that way. hope to have it down by March or April

Good Luck!!!! I hate to discourage you but you will have more monney into it than if you bought a complete one. I know I went that route with a Ballaster Molina took two years to find all the parts and when I did I had more money into it than if I would have  bought one on the surplus market. This was with some free parts too like a barrel and some of the other 45 goodies that I found out fit the Molina even though folks do not know that lie barrel, bushing, ect. So do not figure it as a cheap project. The only good thing is you can say you built it and you will know it inside and out. One other warning a lot of times making these kit guns work right is a project in its self.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

parts seem to be cheaper for them up here, and ones .30-06 run anywhere between $500-$800 Cdn. the same place that sell the recievers also had complete bolt and trigger assemblys for $80 each, and post war barrels are between $50-$80. plus it'll be in .308, which aren't that common u here, cheaper ammo, and my gunsmith has very low prices. i'm also selling off a .22 i don't use to help finance the project. it gives something to do and dream about during those cold winter months

I'm moving to Canada!!!!! That sure sounds do able and cheap too. I have been planing on doing a 1911a1 in 45acp over the winter, one of those kits.  I also have a barrel to change out on an FN49 8mm too. I picked up two brand new 8mm barrels.

i'm actually gonna shell out the cash and get a brand new Wilson barrel in .308 from Brownells. i talked to a few guys who did the build thing, said no good .308 barrels in the country, and the good .30-06 tubes have been picked over. but i'll get better accuracy out of the new barrel, and it's brand new so i think it's worth it. can't see myself getting rid of this gun anytime soon either.

Considering that Canada has tougher gun laws than here on a lot of issues I think I would stay put.    Not saying it may turn to crap here as it could some time down the line but at least we have groups fighting to keep our gun rights here no matter what some may say against them they are still better than nothing. A politician hates to go against a group like the NRA that has good lobbyest than some one like me who writes to my anti gun Senators who tell me as they laugh the whole time they are writing it that they will keep my views in mind while they are voting. Yea voteing the opposite way and anti gun.  :x  :x  :x
