Right-O. About the only reason I use the crimper at all in the handi is to remove the flare. No worries about bullets jumping. :wink:

However I am going to try the FCD in the .445 super. Mainly because it doesn't produce a roll crimp, more like a taper crimp and it resizes the cartridge too. Similar to a crimp used with pistol cartridges that headspace on the mouth of the case, like the .45 acp.

my best groups were shot with no crimp at all with me 357max.i called Speer bullet company for some 357max data and they said to try their 180gr flat nose with W296 powder.i loaded up some start loads and things looked good and i soon was at max.this load is the hottest load ive seen and it came from them.23gr of W296 under their 180gr flat nose bullet shot at of just less than one inch at one hunder yds.as i learned more about loading pistol ammo i found out that pistol ammo needed a crimp :shock: i was just full length sizing the cases then champering it then i would seat the bullet just like i do for my rifles.what a shock i had :shock: a crimp was needed :shock:

oh well,i crimp with all pistol bullets now but when i use the 180gr Lee flat nose i dont crimp :wink:

I have read of numerous shooters that have tried crimping and their accuracy improved. I've also read a bunch that poo pood it but never actually tried it....try it for yourself and see. Replace the asterisks with accurate reloading without the space...
