First of the season falls to the huntman
« on: October 24, 2005, 11:02:35 AM »
I took a Doe this afternoon,  I decided it was better to be out in the woods this afternoon then working so I ask my boss for the rest of the day off and I hit the woods about 3 pm.  Of course I took my hunting gear to work with me just incase I needed them.  I'm hunting a track of secured Federal land in the Thurmont, Maryland area. I drove to the back of the area and went back into the woods about 50 yrds and set up my blind I had a good view of the open field and the draw going back into the woods.  The first deer I saw was a younger doe really small but about two minutes later a big fat doe walked down the draw toward the open field.  I put a NO EXCUSES 460 gr bullet right between her ribs just behind the front fore leg.  She ran about 30 yrds and fell.  nice double lung shot.
