can you get a steel for end and trigger guard for the handy and buff classic.

I'm guessing a steel forend would weigh as much as the rest of the rifle.

You can get a steel trigger guard, part# R02513 and forend spacer, part #502576 for about $75 shipped from H&R...That's what's on this SS'06....polished of course!

Anybody know if those parts could be stipped of the bluing and then case hardened? Darn pricey but it might be worth it.

Just for info. You know, if someone had a Buff that was near and dear to their hearts and already somewhat custom?

They don't need to be case hardened, just case colored and I'm sure that could easily be done with a little judicious application of a torch and/or the use of casenite!!! An even nicer choice to me would be have em brass or gold plated!!!

At $75 for the set maybe they should be gold plated.

Case colored was what I was thinking of.

What is this casenite you speak of? Brownells product? Might open up a new avenue of Handi-mods...

I spelled it wrong, should be Kasenit. :oops: And it may not be the stuff I was thinking about, but I know it was done with a propane torch.....
