Help on the way
« on: August 31, 2005, 03:19:36 PM »
Saw on the news right now that at least a dozen countries so far has offered help. That is good to see. They did not say who and I bet more will come on board.
Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

The looters better run, we're sending a small army down there to help out and its about to become a different ballgame than what you are seeing right now!  I'm really upset, I'd like to go help but they won't let me...........

I feel so sad for those folks.

Don't think there will be much to loot after a day or two and it sounds like they shut down the city so it will be shut down tight. ( N O )

Looks like at this point most of the looting is just stolen property changing hands.

Now that they are shooting at the helicopters and police, it will be interesting to see how some semblance of authority will be achieved.  Too bad they felt the need to turn all the prisoners loose.  We will all be paying for that move for a long time.

I am amazed at how quickly that whole area has gone feral.  I thought we were better than that.

PC strikes again...

 :)
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

The real gravity of the situation is our history of dealing with foreign countries has always wound up costing the American people dearly. And that's what stinks.
So given that gravity, I'll chose levity :D

Well not Venezuela that dictator is using this as a soapbox against the US even if he offers help he is still hollering about Bush. I would tell him to stick it.

We have more than enough better qualified people here to handle the situation. We have the best equipment to do the job.
If these foreign countries want to realy help, they should stay home send a check.

Kuwait is sending us 500M dollars worth of 'oil products', to help us in this crises.  At least they still remember who helped them in that little tiff in the desert a decade ago.  Europe is also supposed to be sending us some oil.  Well, that will help too.
Overall though, we'll do what Americans have always done when we get knocked down - get back up and rebuild.  Hopefully, while not making the same century old mistakes down in the Nawlins Hole.  Lets try to find some higher ground this time.
