30-30 arrived!!

I just picked up my 30-30 handi rifle from my FFL dealer.  I've got to get a scope mounted in time for deer season.  Do you guys have any advice on a new handi rifle?  Do I need to put an "o" ring under the forearm, etc?

Congrats! Read the stickys and FAQ, most all of whatcha need is in there, then ask if ya still have questions. :wink:

I've owned/shoot at least 6 H&R/NEF 30-30s. All shot excellant right out of the box, with only a good cleaning, which you should give any new rifle. Sometimes the "o-ring" is counterproductive. Try it first.
