Sir Knight, questions about your Browning Pro-9 & 40
« on: September 11, 2005, 04:23:35 PM »
Sir Knight,
how do you like your Pro-9 & Pro-40s?  I've been seriously considering one of these pistols as they seem to have the best safety system going.  I'd like to hear anything you have to say about them (accuracy, reliability, etc.).  Also, how much are mags costing for both calibers?  Thanks for any info.

Sir Knight, questions about your Browning P

Yes, I like then very much. They fit my hand very well, have a natural feel to them and have very good controls in the right places making it easy to operate.

The guns can be carried Cocked & Locked like a 1911 or with the hammer down with the safety either engaged or disengaged. I prefer TDA/SA so I carry them with the hammer down and the safety engaged.

The only complaint that I have is that the built-in equipment rail makes them a bit bulky for holster carry but I bought them to be house guns so that really isn't an issue for me.

By the way, the 9mm has one of the smoothest triggers that I have ever encountered while the .40 caliber model doesn't have such a good trigger and this doesn't just apply to my gun. They had a few other guns of the same model and all of the Pro-40 trigger were the same.

I will try to post a photo of the guns within the next day or two -- I'm having problems with my scanner ... an automatic Windows upgrade has disabled my scanner driver and re-installing it is having no positive effect.

PS: I don't know how much new mags are. They came with two each and I haven't gotten around to ordering additional ones but thanks for the reminder as that is something that I have to do.

Thanks for the reply.  My Witness 10mm has the same safety system and I think it's a winner.  Obviously you like it since you bought both calibers!  Thanks again.
