I have a new 257 weatherby that i would like to start reloading for.I also have and older 7mag weatherby that i tried reloading without much luck.I gave up and stuck with factory amo.I sold my reloading equip.I would like to start again on the 257. I need some help with equip. and loads that might work on the 257.
I have had good luck with pistol ammo,but not the same with rifles.Is this a problem with just the weatherbys or is this something i am doing wrong?

bill Jim here what was the problems you were having with the 7 when you were loading for it you said the factory ammo did better than you could do the last time we talked but you didnt elaborate and I didnt dig into it I just let it go some of the weat. ammo is at its peak if you are talking vol.

we may have to sit down at the reloading bench and the shooting bench and see if we can come up with a close duplicate.

Jim do you think this could have just been a problem with the 7 mag and the 257 be ok? The reason i am so worried is that i don't want to get the same results. I sold my reloading equip. and will have to rebuy.

bill I have everything here except those dies we can try several loads here if you are going to get back into it the only thing you will be out is the dies, well of course powder if I dont have the one you need at the time we try, when the weather warms a little come by we can try the load out to 880 yards if you want, further if the cattle will move out of the way.

I have been shooting 73 grains of Reloader 22 under a 85 grain ballistic tip for over 10 years. Work up to it but it has shot good in several rifles. Velocities range from 3700 to 3850 depending on the barrel. Shoots hard and flat. try it.
