Never even knew?
« on: September 05, 2005, 03:58:31 AM »
I was hanging some treestands on property that I own about 20 min. away yesterday, I was just walking through this really thick hard hack, and berry bushes..I mean thick..and I thought I heard somthing to the right and behind me, so I look and theres this big black butt walking away, now this could be bad only because it was about 30 feet away and as im watching I see another black thing, except a little bigger than a black lab, and im watching and another little cub comes running out,it could of been bad because from my experience the mother is usually really protective of her cubs..thank the Lord that she had other things on her mind. Thats the first bear sighting on my property, I went home and called my dad and even he was even surprised, for a guy thats been around for "awhile" (bless his heart) and not to have ever seen one up there, I might be changing my plans for bear season

Very cool...I saw my first black bear in the wild at my friends property two years ago during archery season...I was just sitting on the high side of a logging road and a bear walked by about 50 feet down the hill from me.  I was stunned...

if it is a momma with cub/s, dont even think about it.

keep in mind that bears need alot of area to find enough food to survive.   momma bears dont need as big an area than do boars.   so if you see one there, it may well be the last time you ever see one there.
