Survivor, Handi, or Ultra?

Every few months I come back to wanting to pick up a Handi Rifle.  

I am thinking of .308, but I am not sure if I should go for the Survivor, the synthetic, or the Ultra.

Also, is the .243 more accurate than the .308?  

Anything else I need to consider?

Take the plunge.  These rifles are worth the $200 or so.

Even if what you buy turns out to be not exactly what you want, different stocks are readily available, and you can have the factory fit one or more new barrels for a reasonable cost.  You can then sell the old components for a decent price.

As far as Ultra/Handi/Survivor, just buy the configuration that makes the most sense to you.  The only differences are in the stocks, the barrel lengths, and the available calibers.

What I did, was I bought the 308 Survivor and then ordered the Choate Varmit stock for it. It is more accurate than either of my 243's and recoil is mild to me with the Choate stock.
