Omega ...Gone
« on: September 07, 2005, 04:38:54 AM »
Well I decided I had enough with trying to get this Omega to shoot that while bear hunting this week I just decided to sell it and get rid of this pain in the butt  Omega.
Although it shot great groups only after I took it apart and cleaned it between shots...It was just not a reasonable thing to do to be able shoot a second shot.
I guess if I was a target / bench  shooter this gun would be the one I would choose since it shoots 1/2" 3 shot groups  but since I hunt with my muzzleloader it is of no use to me this way.

Good riddance

My Encore reloads like butter. Can you say oh what a relief it is?

I have 3 Omegas and 2 Encore ML 50 cals and have never experienced any of what you are talking about. They all do shoot though! :D

I have not shot the Omega, but I have great success with the Encore.  :D

I'm sure that by now everybody knows my Omega shoots just great unless I shoot Tripple Seven in it. It cruds so bad on one shot even with the .25ACP conversion that I just don't use the stuff. All other synthetics including Pyrodex shoot well. Pyrodex of course is plenty dirty but with a swab it comes out which is not the case with 777 (requires brass brush and three swabs to clear enough to load a second shot). I simply LOVE Black Mag'3!!!! Great performance and so clean it is hard to believe.
