Looking for info on Barnes TSX
« on: September 06, 2005, 05:29:20 AM »
Have you tried the new Barnes TSX bullets and found them to be accurate in your rifle?  I'd like to try them. Thanks.

I'd also like to know whether penetration is typically better with the Barnes or with the Swift A-frame.  Thanks if you can help with this.

I use all the Barnes bullets from the TSX and X and even the Barnes originals.  The penetration I get with the barnes bullets is great. On a recent hunt for Water Buffalo using a 416 Rigby and 300 gr. X bullets I went through both shoulders and the bullet stopped in the exit side of the hide at 140 to 150 yards. On my Caribou hunt last year I had complete pass through with a 165 gr. Barnes X bullet at 300 yards and took out both lungs and ribs. I can not comment on the Swift A-frame, but I have heard good things about them also.  :D
