8x57mm Ammo?
« on: September 05, 2005, 07:33:44 AM »
What is the cheapest non-corrosive 8mm Mauser ammo? I found Olympic for under $6/20 but it is out of stock most places. Are there any cheap others? Also what is the best quality corrosive ammo and where can I find it?
Thanks and God Bless

Hot-Shot is the best low price ammo I have found.  Works well in all my Mausers.  Brass is good quality and is reloadable.

Don't shoot corrosive ammo in the Mausers.  I buy Hot-Shot or handload

catblaster - The Portugese mil-surp is mil-spec and of excellent quality, also reloadable I believe.  The Austrian and Chech mil-surp is also excellent.  Sellier and Bellot ball ammo is my preference for clean shooting mil-spec 8mm and their cutted edge soft point 196 grainers are going with me on my next hunt.  HTH.  Mikey.

There is some surplus 8mm Yugo FMJ ammo around at a few places but its drying up again.  I have shot the PMC 8mm 170gr soft point with decent accuracy.
