First shots, the new 45-70 barrel
« on: September 09, 2005, 09:58:57 PM »
Hi all,
finally got to shoot my new 45-70 barrel, what a great cartridge   I think I have the big hole addiction coming on here. While the loads I shot were mild, reloading manual 1850fps 300gr hornady,
I found the rifle very comfortable to shoot recoil wise :o  and early results I think it is going to be an accurate gun,no extraction problems :) . will begin do a proper testing next trip to the range, what I am very surprised is the exceptionally clean barrel, only a few powder spots. Will of course give a full range report on completion of testing after the next trip, looking forward to it,
Regards Howard.

You will find that the 45/70 is about the most fun you can have with your clothes on.Welcome to the ranks of big bore addicts.
The more I listen,the more I hear....and vice versa.

45/70..it's almost a religion.
