New remington "Kleanburn" primers
« on: September 08, 2005, 10:29:55 PM »
What a joke!  I shot my sidekick the other day trying these "new" primers and did not even notice a difference in the breech area compared to normal winchester 209's.  Still filthy dirty after 2 shots!!  My opinion is Don't waste you money on these, not impressed.  I am trying to decide to try try the acp conversion or not?  I really hate cleaning the breech plug and breech area.

Well, that sucks!! Why would they make something that doesn`t work right? I thought they already had something like that and discontinued it? Thanks-Jack.

I agree, I will still give them a try, but supposively they are more money for less of them than standard 209`s? Not sure. Jack.

Here is a link to a product I got form cabels, its a 209 primers adapter that holds a pistol primer.  I tried they out last weekend and it looks pretty good.
URL as follows

http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/product/standard-item.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/item-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat20712&id=0034484215982a&navCount=1&podId=0034484&parentId=cat200005&navAction=push&catalogCode=2UF&rid=&parentType=index&indexId=cat200005&hasJS=true

They aren't that expensive either

Hello Dave. I have just ordered the VeriFlame adapter you reccomended. I will be using real blackpower, so i think the cooler ignition will help with the crud ring :D I PM`d ya also Thank you-Jack.

Yep, they should work as the small pistal primer fits into the metal ones they give you that are sized like the 209 which then fits into our primer carrier ( orange thingy.  I will have to take a trip down the road to cabelas and get a set.  Does it reduce fouling?  Does it increase accuracy?  Those would be my questions as the 25 acp adaptor breaches claim to do that.  It would seem to give the same benifits in terms of accuracy as it is less violent and explosion ( the theory behind the 25 acp one).  Let us know what you find those who have it.

I may have to change my original post opinion on these things!!!  I was using powerbelts cause the hornady's would not load in my barrel after one shot.  With these remington primers I was able to load 3 consecutive shots with hornady's never could do that with winchester 209's.  So I have to say they really do lower the crud ring but i will say they still make my breech area just as dirty.  But I guess after further testing I like them!!
