Hey there has anyone thought about getting a 44 mag cb octagon barrel recontoured to half round?
I think it would look nice on my mountain brush gun with a half magazine, nice walnut crescent buttplate stocks, color case would be cool but big bucks for refinish. If you have seen some of the really nice '73 and '76 winchesters of Teddy Roosevelt or other custom winchesters you know what I'm going for. Thanks TC

It shouldn't represent a major problem to a competant smith. The technique is a common one but machine time is not cheap!! Also there is the problem adapting the magazine to the new contour.

Well I know that the recontour itself is not too difficult, the problem is wheter there is enough metal there to take it down to round. I want it to be a half magazine rifle anyways and refitted with a cresent buttplate and checkered. Thats my plan for my custom 45 cbc. I just have to find a smith in washington that is good and will do the work.

I was hoping maybe someone had done this before, advice on smiths in Washington, shortening the magazine and so on. Hope you can help.
