Welcome aboard! :D  Read the stickys and FAQ, pretty much everything you need to know to get your Handi shooting is in there, fee free to ask specific questions if you still have em. The best shooting factory ammo for the '06 Handi that I've seen here is the Federal Fusion, Mac shot a  100yd, 5 shot group that measured about ΒΌ" for the postal match with it. Don't know anyone using the '06 light magnum ammo in a Handi, most don't shoot well with hot handloads, so I wouldn't expect too much from them, but it wouldn't hurt for you to try em to see and report on them.

The 30-06 isn't a 300 mag...so if you are trying to compare it...don't bother...it just isn't worth trying to match it in a Handi. The 30-06 will work out as far as you can shoot it depending on what your hunting for..Figure about 1000 ft.lbs. of energy is a reliable place to stop for the bullets to expand properly with most on the market.

I haven't had any luck with the Hornady Light Mag stuff...and it isn't just limited to the 30-06.I've tried it in the 25-06's...270's and 308's as well with out getting deceant accuracy from them.As Quickdtoo has already said...for the money with factory ammo...pick up some of the Federal Fusion ammo for it.The 150 grainers shot exceptionally well from mine...and should work fine out to 300-400 yards if I do my part.I've found them priced lower than the Remington core-locks around here...
