Just heard that Troy is leading everyone at Perry and is one point ahead of the record at this time.

Yesterday he went clean...200 in Standing, 200 in Sitting Rapid and 200 in Prone Rapid.

You guys are saying that Troy Lawton is on record pace leading the national across-the-course Highpower Championship? That is my idea of a BIG DEAL. I'm sure pulling for him.

As I got it, he dropped 5 points in one phase, went clean in one and lost 6 in another yesterday. That puts him in the top of the pack but probably moves him out of the lead.

A squall line went through Perry yesterday during the matches that was bad enough to require them to shut down for some time. Whether he got caught by that I don't know. (And I'm sure that he'll never mention it if he did.)

His Vandenburg Aggregate of a perfect 800 - 38Xs is a new national record.

According to a posting on German Salazar's HP site, Troy finished 4th in a direct tie (2376-123X) with David Tubb -- who took 3rd.
Last year's winner Norman Houle was 2nd (2383-119X).
Dennis Demille won it with 2385-119X.

Does anyone know what firearm Troy Lawton was using?  Tubb 2000?  I know David, Norman, and Dennis use them.

AFAIK it was a T2K.
I think he was working with both .243 and 6XC. Don't know which he was shooting.
That would make it all top 4 for the T2K.

80 in a row at Camp Perry NRA HP Nationals

Well Silhouette brethren.  I'm learning this HP ATC sport.
Its actually rather fun.  Already preparing for next year.
Thanks for the kind words.
Yes I did shoot a McMillian TL2000 in .243.
Fired on my local Georgia team as well at Perry. Our team won the Rumbold 4 man team match.  Beating out 108 other teams.
Traditional NRA matches have their place.
Still nothing quite as good as McClemore's extravaganza in Winnsboro.
Good shooting to all.
