Scoping

I have a bull barrel Ruger Mark II . I would like to scope it for small game hunting. Any suggestions on type of mounts and rings.  I would prefer not to drill and tap.

Any suggestons?

I had a stainless MK II bull barrel and now have a target slab side MK II with a dot sight built like a scope. If I had to do it over I'd get a Docter Optic dot sight and a mount for a MK II and kept the bull barrel. I liked the feel of the 5.5" bull barrel and the Docter Optic sight weighs so little it would still be as handy for hunting.

How about something like these SoLow rings.. http://www.solow.com/solow.htm
They work very well with dot sights. Doctors are nice sights but pricey!

You must have an older MkII that is not drilled and tapped...If that is the case then Weigand Combat Handguns, Inc makes a non d&t scope mount for your gun...Check out the link(scroll down the page) as well as the pic:

If your MkII is drilled and tapped then Jack makes a scope base for you too...It is on the same link listed above.

I have a Jack Weigand Scope Mount on my Ruger Super Blackhawk Hunter and my Browning Buckmark and they are rock solid...I would recommend any of Jack's work to anyone looking for a great scope rail.

Check him out...
