that 358jdj is good for buffalo IF the right bullet is put in the correct spot!
I have one in 14" and had to put a brake on it to tame that recoil.Any 200-225 gr bullet should work fine. I've shot white tails with the 180 round nosed slugs and am amazed at the results. they drop at the shot usually! Only had one walk away, but he only went 4 or 5 steps.

Your 358 JDJ is plenty for hogs. I have a 14" 358 and have hunted with it for about 10 years. No hogs..but 10 deer. None went far at all. Ive used the 180 gr Horandy SSP,180 Gr Speer FN,200 gr Hornady SP,200 gr X and the 225 BTip. I think you would be ok with any of those. I like the Btip alot..good expansion and have never recovered one. Sure hogs are a bit thicker(bones and muscle) than deer, but the BTip should be fine...or any other decent bullet for that matter!
Hit em hard!!
