My name is John... and I'm a handiholic.

Gotta get this addiction under control!!!

I hadn't bought a rifle in over a decade and after doing some research on muzzleloaders I bought the NEF Sidekick.  Then I started reading on this forum and purchased a handi .270 at Wally world.  Then I bought a 30/06 Ultracomp from MT3030.  I liked it so much I just purchased another??

http://www.gunbroker.com/auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=36846333

I thought it was a pretty good deal, but that's four NEFs this year!

Is this madness or is this a normal handiholic behavior?

Yup, it's normal for a true Handiholic!! Other than a 20ga pardner that I've had since '91 and an original H&R 12ga that's been in the family since before I was born, my first H&R was a .223 Ultra that I bought in May 2004, I now have 24 barrels and 16 frames, so 4 in a year is a good number, but not a record, I recently bought that many in 2 weeks!!! So the sickness could be a lot worse!!!!  Great buy on the Ultracomp, btw!!!

Same here. Sence I got mine in at the first of the year, I now have 30-06 UltraComp, 223 Ultra, 44Mag, and a 12ga Topper Barrel. 4 barrels and (now) 3 receivers.
As far as Handi's go, I believe I have all I personaly need at the moment, though I still want a 45-70 later on and especially a 357Mag barrel-just seems too light hearted to resist.
They are fun and accurate guns at a good price.

OK, that confirms it Tim; you are insane.    Well, I'm on a Handi-focused *single-shot* kick.  I bought my first single shot this year, and now I have 3 SB2s, 1 Sportster, and 1 Rossi single shot combo, so the obsession does seem to kick in, in spades - makes sense, being so economical.

HOWEVER, I might add that as a kid (teen), my brother and I had an H&R .410 that we shot (and stupidly, made into an illegal AOW - short barreled, pistol grip shotgun).  So perhaps the single shot break action seed was planted subconsiously.  Dunno.   :)

As for you, Jeep, if you hadn't bought a rifle in 10 years, then it's about time you did some SERIOUS catching up!  So I'd expect about 10 more Handi acquisitions outta you before it's over.

8)  I'm just makin up for lost time!!! Have bought very few rifles in my life and other than some new rimfires since retirement, the only new rifles I've ever bought in my life have been a Mdl 81 BLR in '83 and an 835 Ultimag 2 yrs ago, so it was high time I started a gun collection, and what better way to do it than with Handirifles!!!

I'm down to just my 270 UC, 445 SM, and 223. :( But i think i have everything covered in my area.

I traded my last bolt rifle...a Weatherby 270 so that I could have a custom Handi...so don't feel bad about being a Handi-holic.....It's not the amount of them you buy that makes you a handi-holic...but the need that pushes you to  aquire them... :) Sometimes folks think they'll  get over them, and you see them sell off all they have...but they don't really..even when they have fine bolt guns that shoot itty-bitty groups...when they walk into a gun shop..they still will scan the racks for a Handi..and look to see what caliber it is... :-D  :-D  :-D Once a Handi-holic...Always a Handi-holic...
