Glock 34/35

Well I think I am ready to take the plunge and get another glock. I had a 21 and traded it on a 1911. I am thinking about getting a 34 or 35 and wanted to know what everyone's opinion was on them. It will be used for plinking, self defense, and as a truck gun.

I have a 35 that I got a few years back.  A little more flip than the 22C, but not much.  I don't like the extended slide and mag releases on mine, but that is just me.  Others put those on as aftermarket options, but I am so used to my older 22C they never felt right.  Trigger pull is nice, I think 3.5#.  Sights are adjustable, but I've never touched mine.  They have a big oval cut in to the slide, behind the rear sight, to lighten it, but no compensator option that I'm aware of.

The only "modification" on mine is a Hogue grip sleeve, which stays in place really well because of the finger grooves.  I suppose that is standard now on all Glocks.  It would be a great platform to trick out with an oversize mag well and all that stuff for competition if you're into that.

Great target/truck/house gun, but I would not feel comfortable CCW everywhere, year round.  Just a little too long, or I'm a little too used to my 27.

I probably should have just got a 24C upper for my 22C if I were to do it again, but I won't get rid of it now that I have it.  All it really does for me is lessen the wear on the 22C, and gives me another frame if I did want to trick it out with all that competition stuff.  Of the 4 Glocks I have, the most I've done to them is add the grip sleeve, buy a spare barrel of two, and I've lightened the trigger of my 22C since it is not a carry gun.  I like them the way they are.

I've got a G35 like Garthag.  I like it.  I'm one of the guys who likes the extended slide release, and want to put them on my other Glocks.  I don't care one way or the other for the extended mag release.  If I buy a Glock that doesn't have one I'm not going to add one later.  It is a 3.5# trigger.  I bought the 40 S&W because you can buy conversion barrels in .357 Sig and 9mm.  I just haven't got around to purchasing any conversion barrels yet.  Lately, I've been thinking I should've just got the G34 since it's so much cheaper, both factory ammo and components for reloading.  I also have a G20C if I want something with a little more thump than a 9mm.  One more thing, if you live where the "high" capacity mags are legal to own, make sure that G35 comes with them.  All of my Glocks were bought while the AWB was still in affect :( .  Just something else to think about!

I have both Glock 34 & 35 models.  I like both.  So far the 9mm model seems to be slightly more accurate.  Both have performed flawlessly.  Previously I have owned Glock 22 and 19 models.  I like the 34 & 35 better.

Due to the low cost of 9mm ammo, I'd go with the mdl34. The 9mm should perform well in your application.Of course I'm not a fan of the .40 anyway.
