remington 870 wingmaster value

i've been kicking around the idea of selling my wingmaster(i don't use it anymore) but i don't know what a good price would be. it was bought new in 76 it has 2 barrels a 26" IC and a 28" IM, it only has a 2.75" chamber the wood has a few nicks and scracthes but it still has a nice shine to it, theres no engraving on it, and theres been no problems with it. so what do you think would be a good price?

I paid $250 for the last one I bought used. Had the Rem Choke barrel on it. I actually thought that a bit high for this area but it was nearly as if new so I paid the price.

Not as many folks want fixed choke barrels these days. The screw in chokes really have taken over things. So even with two barrels I think you'd be hard pressed to get $300 for it. For sure you would around here. Might get $275. But most folks like me would rather have the screw in chokes and have as many different chokes as you want instanting available and at a lower price.

Dunno how the market is in your area but here asking over $275 would likely be a wasted effort. One thing hurting them is the cheap Express guns which are not even in the same league as a real Wingmaster.

That price range sounds about right. BPS's seem to hold thier value better, used to be neck and neck with Wingmasters. Only exception is BPS hasn't been sold down the road in the form of an xpress yet.

I started using an auto for ducks abd geese. I gave my 870 Wingy a second life as a slug gun. 2 3/4" slugs are plenty for power, not many use the 3".

Those barrels could also be traded/sold off and the gun could be outfitted as a home defense gun, extended choke tube, new stock etc..

The gun is worth more in the cabinet than on the chopping block.
