Drilling Man;

Your album was great and very useful.  I have been watching this discussion group for quite awhile.  My first post. I am looking for valmet combo barrels in 12/30-06, 12/222r .

Can you steer me in the right direction?

Thanks doug,

  The rifled choke  will be the hard part to find, i've never seen a combi with one...  I think that would be a rare combi bbl set.

  When i tried slugs in my combi, they shot pretty good.  Don't ask me how good is "pretty good" as it was so long ago i no longer remember.  I just remember feeling i could use it as an back up shot if needed.

  Have you seen any 412's around forsale?  If so, how much are they selling for these days???  I haven't seen one around here at all.

Drilling,
I have seen the 412's list for $400 - $800.  The rifles choke I was thinking of was a screw in.  I found one for the Baikal and it shoots 1-2 inch groups using slugs at 50 yards plus I can shoot Sabots with that choke.

I can't even remember the last time i saw a 412 for $400.00.....  I did see one for $550.00 some years ago with shot bbls, but it had the action trashed from someone not fitting up a set of bbls right.  IMHO is was junk!

  These days all i see are complete guns starting out at well over $1,000.00...

  "If" you see them at 4 to 500 why don't you own a couple????  I'd buy them at that price to resell, as i've got dealers emailing me and offering me more than that right now just for barell sets!!!!
