I'd like to hear about some good hunting spots for the Fox Squirrel in south central counties. Thanks GB for the nice forum..........it renewed my interest.

I've never hunted fox squirrels, just greys. A friend of mine on this forum,"ihunt49" knows a place in eastern PA when he frequently sees black phase, grey squirrels. I've seen these black squirrels in northwestern NJ although they are not common there.

I just got my 2C doe tag and plan on doing some squirrel hunting and scouting out in the Westmoreland County area this fall.  Can hardly wait.  Haven't had the chance to squirrel hunt in the last couple of years.  The last one I got was a fox squirrel at a game land west of Pittsburgh.  Man that thing was big!  Would not mind getting some more of them.

I used to live in sw NY state.  We had Black phase Grays up there and I even got one once.  Wish I would have kept that skin.  It was nice to be able to hunt squirrels on Sunday.  Wish they would start that here in PA.  I used to go out Sunday AM and commune with the "Creator" and bag a couple squirrels which I would make like hot wings for the football games.

Go Steelers.  LOL

I live in Huntingdon county, and its pretty good squirrel hunting (all types) on the Cassville side of Lake Raystown.
