Savage 1895
« on: September 17, 2005, 10:42:15 AM »
A savage 1895 just came into my possession.  According to the SN it was made in 1901.  It is a .303 savage.  The barrel is round and 22" long [carbine].  The gun looks to be about 70 %.  Any idea what it is worth?

Mad Dog:
As "worth" is predicated on condition and rarity in a 99 it`s hard to say what it`s worth. Plus, everybody`s view of condition is subjective. There are some gun blue books that may help you out .
As it`s a .303 i hope you hand load as i don`t believe  there are any commercial loads around.  More searching of the web might turn up something though.
