How many of you guys paint your sights instead of using fiber optic?What do you paint them with

I have used White out, White nail polish, model airplane paint and flat flourescent orange paint. I have also seen sight paint markers at Dicks but have never tried them.. I'm just to cheap to pay the 8 bucks they wanted for them.

Orange model paint. Testors makes a felt tip applicator.

I got some of BIRCHWOOD-CASEY Super Bright touch up sight pens,you get a white for a base coat and an orange for the top if you prefer.They come in a pack with both paint pens for about 7.50 and work great.

Kates, Dicks is a sporting goods store. They are on line. Don't just punch inthe word Dicks. If you do you might be very surprised at what you see. A female friend did this looking for a Christmas gift for her husband. She said what a shock. bobg :oops:

I use white epoxy appliance paint.Spray on a piece of cardboard and brush with a small brush.It stays on very well.......Rick

+It's been years since I have done it but if I remember right I put a base of flat white model paint on and then a translucent bright orange. It worked well and is still on the guns I did it on.

I got a bottle of glow in the dark jig head paint from Gander Mountain. It was pretty thick, it needed to be thinned to make it flow, but it worked. I only used it on a rifle though. It looks sort of white with a tinge of green when in the sunlight, but glows green in the dark brightly for about a half hour and then faintly for hours.

I got a bottle of day glo orange and a red nail polish cheap at CVS or Rite Aid, forget which. Real handy with a built in brush.

I have a 7 1/2 ruger sbh in 44 caliber, I installed a receiver sight from one ragged hole, located in Talahassee, Florida, and painted the front sight with my wife's blue mirrobright nail polish. It is very easy for these 60 year old eyes to see.

nail polish has always worked the best for me, plus if you get tired of the color, it scrapes off pretty easy. There are so many varieties, colors, glowing, whatever. It's a good thing my girlfriend has about 200 different kinds. So girls are good for something when it comes to hunting! I usually use white on the back sights, and orange or red on the front pin.
