Although,I never met him, it really saddens me. All of you are like friends real close friends. I didn't see the post until last night at work. People here at this site are always a cut above the rest. May God bless him and his family! :(  :(

Bill I was just talking about the automatic birthday thing more than anything else.

Yup John, see your point. But who's to say that birthday's aren't still celebrated in that better place where our friend has gone? Will be a wait of remembering him anew each year at this time and how much he meant to us.

I have been gone a while (moving & hunting) and I just read this today. It saddens myself just as it dose many of you here to see such a fine man pass. I pray for Him and his family.....

I just read this.

Jeff (one of the landowners that we shot prairie dogs on) called me down here in LA a few days ago.  Seems that John had Jeff's name and number in his truck.  After he passed, his daughter called Jeff to let him know the sad news.  She was trying to make sure that everyone with an association with her dad knew.

Sad news.  I'm glad I had the opportunity to do some shooting with ol' Deadeye.

geez it hurts to lose a 'young' guy as decent as he was.

i just went back by the 'search' function to look at some of his very brief posts....not having ever met him like some of you did.

it's always a dissapointment to lose one of the good ones.
Yet a little while and the wicked man shall be no more.   Though you mark his place he will not be there.   Ps. 37.

The true measure of a man is how he lives on in the memory of those he touched along the way.
