"gun f/s" in classifieds??
« on: September 23, 2005, 11:09:24 AM »
hey pards
i was wondering what happened to a post in put in the classifieds?
i figure the head honcho pulled it but kinda wondered why??
its not a real big deal cause i had gotten rid of the gun, but was just curious as to why it was pulled
anyways
i think it would be nice on the part of the operator of this here outfit to notify the poster as to why it was pulled.
i like shooting handis and really like this sight and dont mind having my posts pulled or locked if im in the wrong but would like to know what the reason for it is so i wont end up making the same mistake again
thanks

Read the stickies on that forum.  It's probly something there that you missed.

If it didn't contain "the statement" then that's a for shure.

Sureshot, I didn't delete it, but as I recollect, you posted it as being sold, but I usually leave it a day or two so others can see the results. According to GBO rules, once an item is sold, the seller is suppose to mark the topic "DELETE" or "SOLD" in the subject line so Graybeard or a moderator can delete the thread.....I reckon Graybeard did so..

oh ok quick
thats what it was then i marked it sold
i got to talking to a local guy on here that goes by hazey and was telling him abt a local pawn shop here that he should check out cause they had alot of handi rifles there at pretty decent prices. i was just kinda going back to it and following up on the thread (i know, thats the classifieds and not for chatting lol) anyways it just dissapeared and i thought i might have said something i shouldnt have by mistake.
ok good deal
thanks again for clearing it up
anyways i cant wait to take my ultra buff to the woods in october for a chance to drop a fat doe for the freezer.

I take way too many admin actions in an average day to even think about trying to keep up with what I do and where. If the Mods didn't do it then I likely did.

If it's marked sold and I read the thread I delete it. My rules say when it's sold to change the subject line to indicate it sold and the first mod to see it is to delete it. If you fail to change the subject and just mark it sold in the text my policy is to not let you use the classifieds any longer. So far I've not enforced that rule but don't bet the farm I won't.

If a person fails to include the mandatory statement I have no patience with them and will delete it in a heart beat with no notice and if they do it again I might tell them that's their last chance to get it right but a third time and they are no longer a member. Got no time to waste on folks who refuse to follow the few simple rules here.

I have no time to advise everyone of every little admin action I take. I can usually take the action in ten seconds. Might take several minutes to advise of it. As many as I do I'd be doing nothing but contacting members all day long. I'd rather shut it down than do that.
