What ever happened

I saw on here awhile back that someone fired a 7.62x39 round in a 243 Handi rifle. How did that turn out?

Supposedly there Jap Arisaka rifle in the NRA museum in Fairfax, VA, with a story behind it of an ol' boy who, like many folks after WWII that rechambered their (7.7mm) Arisakas for .30-06 spgfld, re-chambered his as well.  Then ol' boy brought it to his gunsmith complaining of an unusually loud boom and recoil and terrible accuracy with the multiple rounds he'd tried through it.  Gunsmith checked - it was a type 38 in 6.5mm Jap, not 7.7mm type 99!    No, that's not as big of a diameter difference (.308 to .264, vs. .311 to .243), but still, we're talking about a very high pressure round (.30-06), with a lot of powder as compared to a 7.62x39mm.  One tough rifle!  :-D

Also reminds me of myself about a year ago when I shot about 30 rounds through my KelTec P380.  Then realized later that they were .32 acp rounds.  I had had a brain cramp due to the box being marked 7.62 Browning, rather than .32 acp.  For some reason I had it in my mind they were .380s - I and my gun were none the worse for wear, however.  stupid, stupid...
