ammo shortages???
« on: September 23, 2005, 11:27:12 AM »
1st; I read on a site that there maybe ammo shortages in american made .223 by remington / UMC our goverment needs it, I guess we don't have or can't manufacture it fast enough for the on going wars.

If we are ever in a world war we could be in deep do do with the supply chain let alone the supply of soldiers too???

2nd; Now I just read there maybe shortages in Russian made 7,62x39 here because the terrorists are buying the supply up too.  I'm not sure if this is true or not but there has been "sold out" or "on backorder" on some of the sites of 7,62x39 russian made ammo lately.

3rd;  I hope with the sanctions being lifted and the new Chinese imports of sporting rifles about to begin again and maybe it will include norinco ammo too. It could fill this ammo glut we seem to be having but don't know it yet.

I don't want to start any flames or a rush to buy ammo but make sure you have enough to hold you over in your stash/ammo bunker.  The prices lately of 7,62x39 has been slowly going up this could signal a shortage ahead like it did before with the chinese ammo way back when.

Also have you noticed the Yugo surplus 7,62x39 ammo prices are comming down?  I guess the higher priced stuff wasn't selling so the price is comming down.  Yup seen it before with the very first chinese sks when they didn't sell for $1,000 the price dropped to $59 and history did repeat itself with the first yugo sks's that were $1,200 at first too then the bottom fell out when we got flooded with them. Just a little food for thought so we don't forget the sales seem to influence the market value of this stuff it isn't supply and demand anymore that sets the price.  It just makes me wonder what they pay for this stuff in the beginning.

Its just my opinion and thoughts.

BTW;  S.Sumner your gut feeling just maybe right again. I'm glad i took your advise.

Glad to be of help..
I really make it my buisness  to stay on top of current events.
And then try to think of what future effects they may have.
