If you have owned one of these I would appreciate any comments, good or bad, that you have. I don't own it yet so feel free to rip away if you think it is justified.
How did it handle? Any jams? Is it a bear to clean, or anything else you have to say. I likely will shoot it only enough to get used to it, as it will be mainly a cw.
It is American made which I like, and has a good guarantee, but it is pretty inexpensive which makes me a bit spooky.

By cw, do you mean carry weapon. I would not carry one for a carry weapon, but then there are those that would. Do a search here and you will see a lot of feedback on the High point handguns. Just remember, you get what you pay for.  :-D

Wow! You won't find many middle of the road opinions on Hi Points. Those that own Hi Points that work seem to think highly of them. Then there are those who have had bad experiences with them. The third group has never owned one but is put off by the design and construction. I belong to that group.  Price has to be the selling point for those that buy the Hi Point. So,------you might want to consider a used handgun from a reputable manufacturer. The are a lot of good choices out there for under $200.

I've shot a few and while they do tend to be reliable and shoot good I definatly classify them as fun guns. I wouldn't reccomend one as a carry weapon too bulky as well as lacking certian safety features I like on a CW decockers da/sa ect. For not mutch more green Bersa/firestorm has a better product for CW purposes.

Thanks guys... I found a couple of other forums about this gun as well, and whether they are good, bad or otherwise, very few owners seemed to be using them as a carry gun. I'll keep looking. Have a nice Thanksgiving.
