Places to shoot My .45/70 Rolling Block in Missouri ???
« on: October 03, 2005, 11:46:01 AM »
I'm very New to This: and I am looking for places to shoot my John Bodine .45/70 Rolling Block.

I live in Southeast Missouri, about 60 miles south of St. Louis and 25 miles West of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri.

Are there any Clubs in Missouri or the Surrounding States, within reasonable Driving Distance, that Shoot the Black Powder Cartridge Rifles ?

Thanks for the help,

Paul

Hi Paul ,im not in Mo. but spend about 5 weeks  there every year. There is a range near St.Louis where the local club puts on BP silhouette matches. If you get on the BPCR site or the one that Shiloh has and ask for KODIAK he can fill you in.He lives in Hannibal  .Arnie

Welcome to the wonderful world of BPCR and yes, Rolling Block Rifles.  I have an original 1876 with a Badger barrel in 45-90.  I guess I got lucky that it came this way, but came along when I was looking at buying the John Bodine myself.

Click on my sig link below and maybe you'll find some help with some stuff there.  Good luck finding a place to shoot there in Mo.

Paul:  Check out the Ackley, Iowa  BPCR shoots.  We shoot a pretty good schedule spring thru fall.  It would be quite a ways for you though.  Kodiak has been to Ackley and I believe he said it is about 6 hrs from St. Louis..There is a one day 40 rd silhouette shoot there on Oct. 14th. and the last shoot of the year a informal big bore shoot on Nov 5th  80 rds. Best regards steve witt.    For further info contact Jay Weber  319 266 0 7 1 8.
