Hi all, I would like to find out from those of you who've actually done it how difficult it is to install a Timney trigger on a Ruger M77 MarkII rifle? Are the instructions clear? Any special tools needed? I've never worked on a trigger assembly, just scope mounting, bedding issues, minor stuff and the like. Thanks in advance... CEJ..

The instructions are clear but they must be followed carefully. The process they describe is simple but if you remove excess metal it cannot be put back. If you've successfully handled the chores you described and follow the instructions carefully it should work out fine.

I installed the Timney on my M1917 Enfield. As gunnut69 points out is it pretty straightforward. I had to remove some metal from the receiver of my gun. I resisted the urge to break out the evil Dremel tool. I used my small files intead. Took longer but the results were worth it.

Amen! I love the moto tools but this is NOT a job for it.. A fine cut file or needle files are plenty fast enough at removing metal. The Ruger trigger requires the fitting of the safety and remove too much and the safety will fail.

I agree with all of the posts above. On my personal Model 77, I did use the dremel tool as I had to remove a little wood in the stock to get the Timney trigger in. Otherwise, simple installation.
