Extractor Spring in 744
« on: September 27, 2005, 02:37:42 AM »
I recently purchased a used Dan Wesson 744 with a 'broken?' extractor spring.  The extractor rod will extract the spent casings but will not recoil back into position easily by itself.  I unscrewed the rod and looked into the hole and noticed the spring seemed to be binded up, almost like it was broken into two pieces.  I don't have a clue as to how to replace/repair this.

Could some of you Dan Wesson Gurus help me out.

Jason

BTW - I love this pistol.  I have owned several ruger blackhawks that I never could shoot well.  It seems my hand just doesn't fit a single action.  However,  I seem to not miss with my Dan Wesson.
