do they still make
« on: September 12, 2006, 05:58:19 AM »
while surfing the net it looks like most shotguns are now made for the cantiliver scope mounts, my older win1300 and my buddy's moss 500 are drilled and tapped for scopes, the reason i'm asking ,  is  i'm looking for a new slug gun for deer hunting . my older win 1300 has developed some reliability problems with feed and trigger problems ( some times won't fire ) hopefully it's a lock-up problem and is an easy fix but it  is now at my gunsmith to see if he can fix it . but it looks like most manufactures are not drilling and tapping, also checked out rem and they are cantiliver mounts.

  any advice is deffinitly appericiated , thank you in advance.

OD;

If you do not mind a single shot HR/NEF is worth a look at hr1871.com there Ultra Slug Hunters are tack drivers and very reasonably priced. I have had a 20ga USH for many years only gun allowed in woods during deer season.you can also check out the HR/NEF shotgun form on this site and get loads of info.GL
