Lee factory crimp die ??

I use the factory crimp die with all my rifle cases, but have never tried the dies for handguns. My question - since the handgun dies partially resize the case will this resize the lead bullet also?? I would like to seperate the seating from crimping operation, but if this die resizes my oversize cast bullets then I will look elsewhere.

I am looking for seperate crimping for 38spl and 357 both using cast bullets.

If the inside carbide ring hits the case when you remove it from the crimping die, it is sizing the cast bullet smaller.  How much, of course, depends on how much oversize the bullet was to begin with.  I use them and it really doesn't seem to have affected accuracy even though they probably are sizing the cast bullet a bit smaller.  Good-luck...BCB

I haven't seen any evidence of the bullet being sized smaller (lead shavings or pieces) but I use the Lee dies to load 45 ACP and every round has functioned flawlessly.

The LFCD does NOT resize the bullet!!!  It is the best die on the market for the reloader having actual control over the crimp pressure.
