surplus 223 ammo
« on: October 09, 2005, 12:56:46 PM »
Hey out there,  :D
I am interested in your opinion on the ammo imported by Cheaper then Dirt??  If you have used this stuff please advise. Iam thinking of getting some to blow off in my Mini 14. They have a no return policy that makes me wonder if this is because they have been having problems??? Please advise as to what you have experienced. If you know of a better or cheaper place to purchase 223 please let me know. Thanks for your help.
  Have fun,

Not sure anyone will allow a return on ammo.  I bet it will shoot a bullet down range, after that it mostly depends on your rifle I would guess.  Most likely you will get what you pay for, just like most every thing else in life.  Larry

Most stores/retailers will not take back ammo.  If bad you usually have ot return to manufacturer.  Most domestic ammo makers gladly take back bad ammo they made.  The risk of having someone return something other then they were sold is to much risk.  The liability of reselling it is to much for them to consider doing.  As far as import stuff, buyer beware, your Mini-14 should be ok.  Some us extremely hard primers and the quality control is not that great.

The wolf ammo is pretty good.  I have a mini14, and it seems to like the wolf ammo.  It is not tack driving ammo, but it is ok for plinking and reasonably accurate.
If you are looking for real accuracy, and do not have a huge bank, you need to take up reloading.

Thanks for your replys. I was mainly interested in those who have used the imported 223 and what their experiences have been with it. Good, Bad or indifferent???  As long as I got good reports from those who have been using it I was looking to obtain it by the 1000 in order to get a better price. I have just ordered a rifle dueling tree and want to get some fodder to play with the tree. Thanks for your time.
