I looked into drilling the aperture as you describe, and yes it could be done, but you could never make it as large as other brands are by taking the aperture out...also if you misjudge and try to drill it to big then it will come apart leaving you no way to tighten the up and down adjustment adjustment...to me that is the weakness of this sight...if you dont mind having a small hole to look through then it will work fine, but for hunting inmy oppinion, the peep isnt big enough for fast shooting...my point is take a Williams, a Lyman, Redfield, or any other peep and compare by taking the aperture all the way out and putting it back in..my first statement still stands, if they would fix this one minor problem, then I will buy another one...to each his own, but that is my thought......WW1
