No offense to little people intended.

Did you see the documentary on the discovery channel a few months ago on the little people that they found that lived many years ago? I can't remember where it was but it was very interesting.

Give the guy a break....

I have never seen any gnomes, but with all the folk lore surrounding them there must have been something to get people writing stories about them.

Wait one minute here now there was a story on the history or discovery channel about them.  This maybe another coverup?  I have heard of a village of little people living north of me but i never gave it much thought or investigated into yet.

There's a pretty extensive archive of Randy Newman films and recordings that to the best of my knowledge have been authenticated.

Maybe some folks around here can have a Randy Newman hunt. :-D

Around 90% of Icelanders believe in these little people. Of course this may be saying more about Icelanders than the existence of little people. Possible side effects of 9 months of winter with nothing but moonshine, your significant other, and volcanic hotspring baths to keep you sane (o.k., the significant other rarely has this effect but you catch my meaning).

I have a book called (Mysterious Oklahoma) by arthur--David A. Farris published by Little Bruce-P.O. Box 5991, Edmond, Okla 73083-5991

The story goes, like this:--Ghostly tales from the Cherokee Nation predate state hood (state hood of Okla, was 1907), their was one of an Virginia aristocrat named George M. Murrell. This tale takes place before the Civil War when Okla was indian territory. Murrell and hisCherokee wife lived in the area around Park Hill. This is the same area he used to fox hunt in the company of friends, aided by a pack of hounds. One night during such a hunt the hounds seemed hot on the trail of something they could not seem to overtake. One of the members of the hunting party was a newspaperman named S.W. Ross. In 1937, he retold the story of that hunt to the Indian-Pioneer Papers, an oral history of frontier times. Ross was quoted as saying, (From their excited baying the fast running animals were apparently quite near their object of pursuit.) Murrell and his friend James E. Latta were riding onto the packs trail.

Major Murrell and Mr. Latta were close together, and upon coming near to the hounds, saw running at great speed immediately in front of the foremost hounds, a dwarf-like being with long black hair streaming in the early breeze run on a short distance and then suddenly vanished, leaving no trace nor track. Immediately, the hounds lay down, painting and weary. Ross added, (The men stood in awe, unable to believe their eyes.) Murrell however took it all in stride saying (There are some things we do not understand.)

It was now dawn. Murrell blew his hunter`s horn then lead the awe struck men and weary dogs back towards home.

I have spent many nights in the back country wilderness areas here in MT,miles from any civilization, roads, ect and I have never heard or seen anything I couldnt identify as one of our resident birds, animals, rodent, ect, ect.Until I do I will remain very skeptical about BIG people or little people wandering our forests,I dont know anyone here in MT that has encountered anything like this and talked about it,if we have somthing like bigfoot up here they definetly hibernate because they dont leave any tracks in the snow that we have for several months out of every year, they must migrate before the first snows and return after they all melt.

LOL those are nice storys, but, have you ever smelled a  bear that has been rollling in roadkill that has been out in the sun for a week, have you ever heard the bellow of a moose at close range, ever seen a moose moving away fro you through the trees?ect, ect not even 1 shred of proof, nophotos,no photos of tracks? There are plenty of idiots in this state that mistake horses for elk and cattle for bears every year to the point they get shot, just because these storys come from montanans dosent give them any credability.Like I said we have snow up here for a long period of time dont you think someone would cross thier path and report the tracks or take a pic?Maybe they wear boots or snowshoes during the winter so we think we are crossing the tracks of another hunter?Im not saying the couldnt exist but I am saying I doubt they hang out around here. You will enjoy this one,a friend of my dads named Wayne shot a yearling black angus many years ago while bear hunting on our ranch just north of here, ended up costing him around $1000 dollars after he paid the owner, now whenever we are out hunting and we see cattle we say"there some Waynebears",he doesnt think it as funny as I do.
