Before I load my muzzleloader for the season, I run a patch to remove the bore butter in the barrel. When I use bore butter on a sabot, I just put a little on the outside of the skirt, not were it contacts the powder. I have had a muzzleloader loaded in my gun safe, (NO PRIMER IN GUN) for several months and when I go to the range and fired it, it went off as if I just loaded it. Also a side note, I install a red-dot over my barrel indicating a loaded muzzleloader. It blows off when I shoot.
