Fishing been slow??
« on: October 07, 2005, 01:04:31 PM »
Noticed not a lot of activity on the fish boards since last week (I lurk a lot, don't post much). Just thought I'd pass on the fishing report from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. I went out solo on Sunday night between 8 and 11. Couldn't find anybody who could take off and go along. Anyhoo, ended up with a nice night, not too much wind and a helluva good time catching schoolie stripers (22-29 inch). Only had to run @ 10 mins to the first island and sight cast to the pilings. What a great place to fish! You look in the shadow-line from the lights above and see just gads of stripers hanging out. Just pick a spot and hang on. Lost count after 15 or so.
Also caught a seagull......must have flown right in my line and got tangled up. Second time in my life that's happened...
Looking forward to some cooler weather soon and better fishing for speckled trout (my true fishing passion!) and some big 'ol drum to horse in.

Tight lines and good fishing to all!!

Mike

I just arrived in Jupiter yesterday and was planning on going fishing, but I wasn't able to make it.  Tomorrow is Thanksgiving, so fishing is out of the question, meaning that I am going to try to make it on Friday.

In any event, from what I have heard, the fishing has picked up quite a bit off of the pier - bluefish, mackerel, etc.  When it gets cold up north, the fish come here down south for their vacation.
